New pattern on Ravelry.
I made this little cocoon for my nephew Luke. I think he approved 🙂
You’re gonna need:
From the top of the hood to the bottom: 48cm
Only cocoon: 22cm (w) x 30 cm (h)
yarn: 2 skeins of Slubby Mix (Fleece Artist. 50% Bluefaced Leicester, 50% Merino 100 meters / 125 grams). You’re going to use approximately 200g. If you want to make a cocoon without hood, just one skein is enough. Don’t waste anything.
needles: 7mm (circular, 40cm long) and 8mm (circular, 16′, and dpns). The smaller needles are going to be used only for finishing the hood. If you’re gonna make only the cocoon, only larger needles will be needed.
notions: 2 markers; darning needle.
Gauge (stockinette st, after washing but not blocking)
12 sts = 10cm
16-20 rows = 10cm. The variation is because the yarn I used (Slubby Mix) is very irregular. Some places I measured one thing, another places I measured another. But in this pattern, the row gauge is not important. So, don’t worry.
