Simple mittens

Posted by on Jul 22, 2013 in Designs | 7 comments

Since I watched The Hobbit, my attention was drawn to Gandalf’s mittens:

You can’t see well in the picture, but in the movie it’s much more visible. A very simple gray (of course) mitten, probably made with some coarse yarn. I kept that image in mind, waiting for the right opportunity to reproduce them.

Few weeks ago, I was cleaning my stash when I found half skein of gray alpaca which made me immediately think of the Gray Peregrin, although it was alpaca (meaning not coarse at all).

Then, I made my version. And when I finish, I decided to customize more “girlish like”, with some crochet techniques, just to give you an idea that, ok it’s very simple, but you can add details that can make it not simple at all.

Have fun :)
